Please click on this link to go to the UCAS website Secondary Core PGCEIn England, you can take a Post Graduate Certificate Education course based in a university or college, or a school-based course run by groups of schools that have formed school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) consortia. ![]() You will undertake teaching placements in schools within the consortium. Teachers in the schools act as mentors to organise and monitor your training. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of school activities, such as parents' evenings, sports days, plays and concerts. Our PGCE programme is university validated for the award of a postgraduate teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You may be required to attend some lectures at one of our partner universities as part of your school-based course. The Cambridge Partnership PGCE takes one academic year to complete.
The course is an intensive programme of initial teacher education which aims to develop trainees' competence and confidence in the teaching of their chosen subject(s) and in the general professional role of the teacher. ![]() |
